On the Social Web your username looks like an email address, but with two @ signs.
Mine looks like this: @[email protected]
me: @jaz
my Social Web app: @toot.wales
On some apps, like Facebook, everyone is stuck on the same site and can’t talk to people on other apps. But on the connected Social Web, someone named “jaz” could be at wien.rocks or musicians.today – just like how email works.
The extra @ sign shows it’s a Social Web address, not an email.
And if you ever move to a new Social Web domain, your account can forward to the new one – so your followers stay with you automatically.
