Notes

Relatively basic in this section. The end user has signalled location to be their most important decision, so we separate into continents to help bring down the filters and make the individual lists more manageable.

For the entries I still show language because region does not equal language. There’s an English-language server in Japan, there’s Basque and Galician in Spain, leaving the language in adds a visual confirmation that yes, this is in the region you want, but also yes, you speak the relevant language.

Category (Topic) is still shown because while most of these are general purpose services, regional topic-centric servers will show, and while there’s no dropdown filter it again serves as a quick decision support that the category still fits for you.

We probably wouldn’t want to geolocate or otherwise infer desired location from user metadata, they might be on holiday, they might be interested in connecting to a service “back home”… I believe it’s a quick filter to find a location that meets the needs.
